And, possibly, "expansion for the PEK."  That's how I use mine.

Also, he's offering it to you for a BIN of approx $4,000, but he's got a top
bid of over $7,000 now. My guess is he wouldn't honor that BIN price at this
point. If you really insisted on buying this one, I'd find someone on SDIY
or AH who lives in New York and offer them $50 or even $100 or so to go and
check it out to make sure it exists (and to get the guy's home address and
phone) BEFORE sending any money.

i had a listen to this old gem aqua by edgar froese last night on the headphones and you have to love the twang of the sequenced line on track 2.Does anyone know what that is ? sounds quite vocal like and rubbery and twangy .....

I wish Moog would do that. The savings on having no onboard UI would
bring a real poly Moog synth down in price and size. For instance
have a monosynth for the UI then say 4 voices in a small rackspace.

Have you seen the difference in size and component count between the DSI
boards and the voyager boards?
Still i dont see any reason why they couldnt do a nice rackmount polysynth,
maybe compromise, a UI like on the phatty shouldnt break the bank but would
still give a bit of hands on..
Maybe its in the pipeline (a polysynth from moog)
I hope they put a multimode filter on a polysynth if they do one.. a real
shame the DSI synths didnt do that..

Yeah, "Panorphelia". Gee, in the the decades I've been listening to that
I've always assumed it was a Moog, having once gotten pretty damn close to
emulating that riff on the Moog at Pasadena City College (1977-78). Those
driving sequencers of early Tangerine Dream are wicked cool. Lots and lots
of Mellotron on "Aqua".

Does anyone know if the PCC P3 still exists or was it eaten by the 80's
digital revolution?

Hi guys,

Sorry for coming back on this thread, but is there anybody who can say if
the murmuring water sounds at a.o. the beginning of the title track (and
first track) "Aqua" comes from an EMS Synthi (or VCS3), or is that only a
sample played on the Mellotron ?

And could there be such a kind of sound created on just an EMS Synthi-AKS ?
I thought there should be a way to do it, however I tried over and over on
my AKS, but I didn't succeed - I even didn't come close to.
If anybody could help me how to do the settings and patch points for a sound
coming pretty close (haven't to be exactly the same sound, but still a
recognizable sound of murmuring water), I'd be very grateful.

Thanks in advance & best regards,

- THM -

I am pretty sure he used all synthesis for those sounds ? i think the ems
synthi is probably the answer , its the closest ive heard to the kind of fx
sounds on that album other than a nord modular i heard doing some of that
stuff well  ( but with a  digital nord modular sheen ) maybe the signal was
being processed by something also ?

I read somewhere that he recorded water running from his faucet and treated
it with the ems.
something like that.

Thanks Samplelab & ARPMOOGSCIENCE for your fast replies !!
Maybe that could be an option too (water samples running through a Synthi),
never thought of...

If anybody have more comments or thoughts, please feel welcome to post
these.

Thanks & best regards,

Hi Yves !

Good to meet you here in these forums too !!
Indeed the water sample you made with your system is exactly the kind of
sound I'd like to create on my Synthi-AKS or DotCom system.
So it definitely doesn't have to be fine-tuned to recreate the exact "Aqua"
sound - that's not my purpose. I just liked to make some kind of murmuring
water sound for use somewhere in my upcoming tracks, but I didn't succeed in
making an acceptable/recognizable one (in the best cases my wife thought it
were just bubbles fx)...

If you can help me a little how to make this on my DotCom (doesn't have a
dedicated comparator module and only S/H for random CV if that is allright),
I'd be very pleased.

Thanks & kind regards,

- Pier - (aka THM)
