Hi Folks:

I decided I needed to get out and spend some quality time with my
camera tonight.  We are blessed here in north east ohio with a
beautiful chain of parks that surround the city of cleveland, and the
cuyahoga valley national park as well.  Tonight I visited Hinkley
Reservation and shot the pics that are in the following gallery

Comments and criticisms are most welcome

Hi Tim,

Some really nice flower shots, bright colors and nice lighting. I really enjoyed the water droplets, especially the closeups. I was a little disappointed though because I was thinking they were going to be pictures of the city. I was born in Akron and lived some time as a child in Cincinnati.

That reminded me of our theme galleries. Are we going to have any more of those? I wouldn't mind a city theme as in the city we live in. But that would only be one picture each. What if we did a bunch of city pictures, posted them in our sites on a special page and set a date for the final product to be seen by the rest of the group? Say, maybe in 4 to 6 weeks? Everyone could participate. Any thoughts, comments, agree, disagree?

Shyrell

Hello Tim,

I agree with Shyrell's comments.  I expected to see more of the park, but
the flower shots are beautiful.  Maybe if the photographs were saturated
just a touch the detail may come out a little more.

My favorites are the water drop shots (they may be more powerful if composed
from left hand bottom corner to right hand upper corner, but still very
nice) and the last two - TAH4664 and TAH4665.  Very nice composition;
beautiful and graceful.

Thank you both for your comments -- im still trying to figure out how
to shoot park shots, i seem to end up with cluttered green masses
rather than the grand vistas that I want -- its much easier out west
where the landscape is bigger!

Could we make space in the gallery for say six weeks and offer exhibitors the chance of sending a set of three pictures of their home town. With the stipulation that within the picture there had to be something which gave a clue to the location.  My idea being to avoid Parisians having to submit an Eiffel tower picture and to avoid street scenes which however great could have been taken anywhere.

Michael,

I like the idea. For me, though, I thought of the old bridge in our town that used to let people cross over the railroad tracks. It has been closed off for a few years now while the "powers that be" quibble over "To rebuild or Not to rebuild"! In the meantime, it's a real hassle trying to get to the new SUPER Wal-Mart they just put up. What a contrast.

I like your idea of 3 photos. Anyone else? I don't travel anymore and would like to see where "y'all" live. ;-)
