Parse entire entire chromosome!

Hi,

I have entire human chromosome downloaded from refseq database.

I have to parse for genename like /gene="RNPC3" and its  starting position,ending postions and extract sequences and also mRNA join positions.

Basically i want to parse the entire chromosome file for this information!!

How can i do?

I am new to bio perl!
