PangeaVR statsI thought I'd throw out some stats on the first 4 days of PangeaVR usage for you all.
Unfortunately, Apple took the download counters away after only 12 hours, so I don't know how many times it has been downloaded, but I do know this: The app has been launched 58,016 times! My Panomundo site has been viewed 1,670 times It is the #2 most popular download in the Photography category! I didn't expect this much interest, so version 1.0 only allowed a max of 50 portfolios which we have now filled up. Version 1.1 has been submitted to Apple, and will hopefully be approved very soon. Once they do, I'll be able to add even more since it supports up to 500 portfolios. -Brian |

Re: PangeaVR statsNo 58,016 launches simply means the app has been launched 58,016 times. No way to
know how many panos viewed. Figure the average person views 3, then that's 150k. -Brian --- In PanoToolsNG@..., panokaemena@... wrote: > > Brian > > 58016 application launches means 58016 panoramas viewed? or how we should understand this?? > > anyway already impressive numbers so far ! > > last 24h I have got 58 (42 iPhone/ 17 iPod Touch) visitors to my linked website on my portfolio. Re: PangeaVR statsGreat news that the app is picking up Brian, it deserves it of course!
Maybe you'll get even more hits if you post a message as well on the Panoguide forum. Have you got a wish list yet somewhere for new features, maybe a forum for Pangea (VR) itself. Looking forward to seeing new and improved versions of course :) Henri |

Re: PangeaVR statsHi Brian,
Congratulations to your good startup. My portfolio xml was individually loaded: 7/11- 115times 7/12- 220 times 7/13- 326 times Youtube promo --302times 50 entries on the list with potentially 500 on the list will propably bring some other concerns to light. From the video i saw the entries are sorted rather messy. Haven't thought about that when submitting. But i saw quite a few 360....., Virtual ....VR.....Panoramas....redundancies. With a couple of hundred in the list its going to be hard to keep the sorting logistic ....No? Re: PangeaVR statsWell congratulations Brian, it all seems to be going very well with
some rather glowing comments being posted about it from all over the world. Stats for Saturday for me shows that I had 172 unique visitors, requesting the xml file 190 times, requesting 393 panoramas to be delivered. The majority of the traffic originated from the USA and Europe but I did manage to get a single visit from the Ukraine and Singapore. And all this from some one who is listed way down on the list. Maybe I should rename my entry "Aardvark Panoramas"? Thanks again Brian, Bob Bilsland. --- In PanoToolsNG@..., "Brian" <brian@...> wrote: > > I thought I'd throw out some stats on the first 4 days of PangeaVR usage for you all. > Unfortunately, Apple took the download counters away after only 12 hours, so I don't know > how many times it has been downloaded, but I do know this: > > The app has been launched 58,016 times! > My Panomundo site has been viewed 1,670 times > It is the #2 most popular download in the Photography category! > > I didn't expect this much interest, so version 1.0 only allowed a max of 50 portfolios which > we have now filled up. are 500 in the list. mmm On 14 Jul 2008, at 10:42, Robert Bilsland wrote: > > Well congratulations Brian, it all seems to be going very well with > some rather glowing comments being posted about it from all over the > world. > > Stats for Saturday for me shows that I had 172 unique visitors, > requesting the xml file 190 times, requesting 393 panoramas to be > delivered. Re: PangeaVR statsBrian,
Congratulations on a successful launch! Looking at my stats this morning I've had 1,872 iPhone visitors the past few days. The number one pano was viewed 814 times. I don't have an iPhone yet and need to visit the Apple store to see what they look like using PangeaVR. I think even 50 items is stretching it - 500? Yikes! It is all Brian's call of course. But perhaps location-based picking might help? k |

But I think ultimately, the VR viewer would best serve as a "helper app" to open VR images attained through navigating existing web pages and other such sites that are better suited making your way to any of the thousands of VRs already online. Does the iPhone Safari browser have such a capability? For example: Go to a web page, click on a link for a VR image, launch the viewer and show the pano along with the XML data that goes with it? |

Re: Re: PangeaVR statsI actually just sent an email to Brian a little while ago about that.
It would be really useful to be able to access Pangea VRs from a site set up for mobile phones for tour like use. I could then offer this to my clients! Re: Re: PangeaVR statsI have no clue of how this programming thing works, but I can make an
analogy with the behaviour of DevalVR "hijacking" the MIME from QT to allow QTVR movies to open with DevalVR instead (which I learned from Mark Huff at the QTVR list.). Could it be done following the same line of thought? Regards, Rodolpho Pajuaba Robert C. Re: PangeaVR statsHi Milko,
I saw that video and the application with your Cherry Blossom panorama looked great. I want to see how MY panos looked! ;-) Because I don't need the 2yr AT&T contract I might pick up an iTouch if the application will work on it through wifi. I'm guessing that Brian's PangeaVR program will have the ability to view files saved on the unit in the next update or two. If not there is always the CubeWorld option that works now. I also noticed a lot of people trying to sell their iTouch on craigslist.org because they're buying the new phone. I'll need look into it a little more. I need to get out and shoot a few new panos this week! Phil --- In PanoToolsNG@..., "Milko K. Re: PangeaVR statsI just read where Apple sold 1 million iPhones over the past weekend!
It took 74 days to sell 1 million of the original iPhones! -Hoyle --- In PanoToolsNG@..., "Philip Warner" <philip@...> wrote: > Because I don't need the 2yr AT&T contract I might pick up an iTouch > if the application will work on it through wifi. |

A new version is promised, but it isn't done yet and then needs to get on the app store. PangeaVR is doing truly fantastic things for the visibility of panoramas, but on a personal level some way to view local files is the most important feature for me. k |

Re: PangeaVR statsHi
Here are my Statistics July 12 377 visits, 414 pages, 822 hits 157,52 mb bandwidth use July 13 735 visits, 805 pages, 1585 hits 303,58 mb bandwidth use My portfolio is Aurora Borealis by Steini Fjall. Hope to be able to add some more portfolios soon. One more thing... ...as we don't have iPhone or iTunes music store here in Iceland, my only way to fallow up is here on this list. I have a huge request to someone out there to make me a Youtube promo of how my pano looks like on the iPhone... please someone-anyone. It is estimated that of all mobile phones here in Iceland that iPhone has about 10-20% of the market. They are all hacked so we cant download PangeaVR as we don't have access to iTunes store. That goes for iPod touch |

Re: PangeaVR statsOK well Stats here indicate that the portfolio.xml file has been
downloaded 1366 times and 1192 pano files have been read and that's at Mon 14th 10:00 GMT. Busy at the moment adding the the Lat/Lon data for the next version! Geoff <http://www.sphericalvisions.com> |
