Packages of bleeding edge Ekiga.

Hello,

Internet, June the 5th, 2008,
Thank to Eugen Dedu, we now have packages for easy testing of our
bleeding edge Ekiga.

Check it out:
http://snapshots.ekiga.net/

It includes Debian Unstable (i386 and amd64) and Ubuntu Hardy and Gutsy
(i386 and amd64).

Those packages feature presence indicator, new and advanced video
codecs, a roster like you can find in most Instant Messenger clients, a
quality indicator, an easier setup and many other stuff. Last, but not
least, many bugs to hunt here and there! Please, be kind enough to help
us test and improve it.

For those interested in the latest and greatest ekiga on Fedora 9 can
grab packages for x86_64 and i386 can grab them from
http://fedora.roving-it.com/ekiga/

Not sure if they'll work on Fedora 8 but they should be easy to
recompile with the included src.rpm's.

Its not currently setup as a yum repo but that is a possibility if
there's enough interest.

I'll randomly upload newer snapshots as I compile them.

This would be really nice for a larger audience; as the packs you roll
out will update from time to time, it is really easier for people to use
a repository. The more it is easier to use, the interest you'll get ;)

I think it will be good to have a repository for Fedora on
snapshot.ekiga.net. Damien, Jan ?

I could maintain that if people are interested. I maintain various
packages is Fedora already. When we start getting more official
alpha/betas for v3 I'll probably try and get them pushed to rawhide as
well.

I would greatly appreciate a yum repo.

Also: thank goodness you are providing src.rpms as well:  these are
essential for bleeding edge packages as you can then compile from source
if things go wrong.  (Previous bleeding edge rpms for redhat/fedora
suffered greatly here)

No problems. I'm being compiling them up for my own consumption for
ages, it nice for others to get use from them as well.

The simplest is just to have snapshot.ekiga.net acting as a mirror. For
Debian and ubuntu we already copy on a daily fashion time from the web.
After one week, files are deleted and the repository is updated daily as
the server runs on debian. This might not be possible with your
repository, acting as a mirror seems the best way to me.
