Open Ontology Repository

There was a recent Slashdot article about the Open Ontology Repository:

        http://tech.slashdot.org/tech/08/05/28/2210237.shtml

Does the CG community consider this to be worthwhile effort?

Would OOR make any use of http://www.opencyc.org/ ?

I notice that John Sowa has provided input to this (see http://ontolog.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?OntologySummit2008_Communique)
.

I attended that meeting because I think we need a repository that
relates and coordinates all the ontology resources that people have
been developing.  But the millipede still has a lot more shoes to drop.

Before announcing it on Slashdot, I would have waited for something
more concrete than "a fine-tuned Communiqué".

John
