Ontology Views in Protege - Prompt API?
Hi,
I'm trying to extract some views from large ontologies (MeSH and NCI) using Protege Prompt. As in: N.F. Noy, and M.A. Musen. “Specifying Ontology Views by Traversal”, Proceedings of the Third International Semantic Web Conference – ISWC 2004, LNCS 3298, pp 713-725. http://dx.doi.org/10.1007/b102467 Before actually doing this with large ontologies, I'm testing with smaller ones (pizza.owl). When trying to do this extraction from the Protege GUI it throws exceptions when copying frames from the source ontology to the target, so I cannot use the GUI (besides, in the long run I'd need the API). So, I'm trying to use the API. Is there any documentation about Prompt API? (besides the source code)? I'm using Protege 3.4 Beta (build 504). Is this functionality supposed to work for this version and I'm doing something wrong? Re: Ontology Views in Protege - Prompt API?Hi Jesus,
We have some documentation on Prompt here: http://protegewiki.stanford.edu/index.php/PROMPT and here: http://protege.cim3.net/cgi-bin/wiki.pl?Prompt (see developers section) I am not sure whether the extraction functionality works with OWL ontologies. You could contact Natasha Noy directly and ask about it. Tania Jesus Bisbal Riera wrote: > Hi, > I'm trying to extract some views from large ontologies (MeSH and NCI) > using Protege Prompt.
