New curious developerThis is more of an introduction to the group Not sure where to start & not finding a Win32
binary I compiled it using VS2008 which requires quite a few changes as you can
imagine. Took me about 2 hours to get it compiled. There we a couple of
things the compiler picked up that I had to changed & it did not like the
multiple stdafx.h files so I reduced to one which required removing stuff from
the includes section of most files. I’m sure you guys roll
your eyes everytime a newbie wants to change all files in a project.
I looked at the NMEA parser because comms is my area of expertise. There
is a bug regarding Garmin receivers in some modes do not send the GGA sentence.
The RMZ sentence is orphaned code (bug never called) resulting in no GPS
altitude – I have fixed this one. Very impressive user interface I must say. Ran first time
with no installed files - cool Possible changes I thought of ·
More accuracy & resolution by using the
Garmin / Garmin protocol (probably not that noticable) ·
Add calculated indicated airspeed – this may
help show the pilot how accurate the wind calcs are when compared to ASI Based in South Africa Fly a Lambada Motor glider & also Paragliders Used GPS log upto now Jon Pio ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by the Moblin Your Move Developer's challenge Build the coolest Linux based applications with Moblin SDK & win great prizes Grand prize is a trip for two to an Open Source event anywhere in the world http://moblin-contest.org/redirect.php?banner_id=100&url=/ _______________________________________________ Xcsoar-devel mailing list Xcsoar-devel@... https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/xcsoar-devel |

Re: New curious developerWhy bother with VS2008. All the required components to compile are available for download.
Just Look under Advanced - Basic Setup in the Manual. Brian
