NetBeans IDE 6.5 in Traditional Chinese Now Available!

The NetBeans Translation Project is proud to announce NetBeans IDE 6.5 in Traditional Chinese! The release joins Japanese, Simplified Chinese, Brazilian Portuguese and other community languages in the list of multilingual versions of NetBeans 6.5; it includes localization for the NetBeans Platform, Java, Web and JavaEE UI modules.

This localization was a joint effort by Sun Taiwan Training Center, the Sun Globalization team and members of the NetBeans Taiwanese Community. Learn more about the release.

New Version of NetBeans DTrace GUI Plugin Available

The new version (0.5) of the DTrace GUI is now available for download from the NetBeans 6.5 Update Center. The new DTrace GUI has more than 30 new Chime displays that can be used to visualize the output of DTrace. You can use the new Chime displays to tune and debug applications that are written in PHP, Ruby, Python, Javascripts, Java, C, and C++ languages on OpenSolaris. Essentially, the DTrace GUI can be used to optimize the whole software/web stack on OpenSolaris.

Patch1 for NetBeans IDE 6.5 Now Available

NetBeans.org has released a new patch, which is an update to the NetBeans IDE 6.5. The patch includes bug fixes in modules for Auto Update Services, Ant, BlueJ Project Support, C/C++, Database, GUI Builder, GlassFish v3 Prelude, GlassFish v3 Prelude - JRuby, IDE Platform, Java, Java EE, Web Applications, Java Profiler, NetBeans 6.5, PHP, Platform, RESTful Web Services, Ruby and Rails, SaaS Services Support and UML. The patch is available in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Brazilian Portuguese languages.

To obtain the fixes, the NetBeans IDE must be installed and running. You can download the fixes through the IDE's Plugins Manager.

NetBeans IDE 6.5 for JavaFX Now Available!

JavaFX 1.0 is here and NetBeans IDE is the official IDE for JavaFX development! Developers can create, test, debug and deploy JavaFX applications for desktop, browser and mobile platforms using the NetBeans IDE. Ready-to-run sample projects are available for a quick start in building rich internet applications using JavaFX. Learn more about NetBeans IDE for JavaFX and download it today!

If NetBeans IDE 6.5 is already installed add JavaFX 1.0 using the IDE's Update Center. In the IDE, navigate to Tools -> Plugins and select the JavaFX checkboxes.
If NetBeans IDE 6.5 is not already installed visit the NetBeans download page and select the JavaFX download bundle.

JavaFX 1.0 - Access Services Hosted on Embedded GlassFish

Arun Gupta shows how to create a simple JavaFX application using NetBeans IDE. The application plays a movie; allows the viewer to cast votes; and see aggregate responses from other viewers. The application is developed using NetBeans 6.5, JavaFX 1.0 plugin, and coded using JavaFX Script. The voting engine is deployed as a RESTful Web service using Jersey on GlassFish.

NetBeans 6.5 Gets High Marks from the Community!

The NetBeans community says NetBeans 6.5 is ready for FCS! 92% of respondents to our NetCAT survey approved the project, while a few recommended that some more issues be fixed. (Fixes will addressed in Patch1.) Thank you to all participants of the survey, and to the NetCAT 6.5 team for their tremendous help during 6.5's stabilization phase!

NetBeans Available for Download via Mirror Servers Worldwide!

Say hello to faster downloads of NetBeans! Thanks to a network of mirror servers around the world (the US, Brazil, the UK, the Netherlands, Taiwan, and Japan) users can now get quicker NetBeans downloads from high-speed sites that are geographically closer by. We are still looking for more mirrors, especially in Australia, China, India, and Russia. The second Release Candidate of NetBeans IDE 6.5 is now available for download. The release is also multilingual—full downloads are available in Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Brazilian Portuguese. The final NetBeans IDE 6.5 release is planned for November 2008. Download the release candidate and provide your feedback in our 6.5 Community Acceptance Survey!

NetBeans IDE 6.5 RC2 Available in Community Languages

The NetBeans IDE 6.5 Release Candidate 2 can also be downloaded in six community languages—German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Albanian. Although the NetBeans IDE is not fully localized in these languages, the NetBeans Platform is, and users can build NetBeans RCP applications. Visit Masaki Katakai's blog for further details.

Patch4 for NetBeans IDE 6.1 Now Available

A new patch for NetBeans IDE 6.1 is now available. The patch includes fixes in modules for C/C++, Composite Application, Editing Files, WSDL and XML and Schema. To obtain the fixes, the NetBeans IDE must be installed and running. You can download the fixes through the IDE's Plugins Manager.
