Hi,
I need a little help. I just started to learn the J2ME. Recently I had installed Java SE
Development Kit 6 update 6 and NetBeans IDE 6.1 (mobility) on my Windows XP version 5.1
sp2 system. Then I tried the "NetBeans CLDC/MIDP Development Quick Start Guide" - the
"MyHello" application and came across a problem - the application was successfully built,
but it did not run in the emulator (Sun Java(TM) Wireless Toolkit 2.5.2 for CLDC, came
with the IDE). The emulator window shows up, but the buttons are not responsive, and after
a short while the window closes by itself. When I am disconnected from the Internet, the
emulator window does not show up at all. The output window fills up with some drivel
completed by "BUILD SUCCESSFUL" line. The built application runs correctly on my cell
phone. The WTK exhibits the same behavior when started from the command line.
Am I missing something? I also wonder why do java.exe and emulator.exe disturb my firewall
by attempting to connect to the Internet. Is this absolutely necessarily (now they are
allowed, but I do not like it)? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
