NetBSD-current on Acer Aspire OneHello,
I'm testing NetBSD-current (4.99.72, cvs`ed on 10/01/2008) on my Acer Aspire One netbook. What works/is attached: ..> sound ..> wired network card (re) ..> wireless network card (ath), using lastest ath_hal (0.10.5.10) [1,2] ..> webcam (uvideo) What doesn't work: ..> CPU identification, SpeedStep[3] ..> SD/MMC card reader I'm a new NetBSD user, moving from FreeBSD. NetBSD seems to support this kind of machine a little bit better, with great chance of improvement. Can someone point me directions to (try) to make SpeedStep work? I can test patches or anything... Looking at some code of OpenBSD folks, Atom CPUs are proper recognized and SpeedStep is working. About the SD/MMC card reader, I've seen some patches. What is the lastest patch to apply into the source tree? The card reader is a JMicron device. Some patches say that Ricoh-based SD/MMC card readers are supported, only. If this helps, the dmesg[4] is also on this message. I'm not running the GENERIC kernel, but if someone wants the dmesg from the GENERIC kernel, just say so and I'll attach it. Thanks in advance, Thiago. --- [1] ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/misc/jmcneill/ath-0.10.5.10.patch.gz [2] ftp://ftp.netbsd.org/pub/NetBSD/misc/jmcneill/ath-0.10.5.10-ieee80211.patch [3]: cpu0: Intel Pentium Pro, II or III (686-class), 1596.14 MHz, id 0x106c2 cpu0: features bfe9fbff<FPU,VME,DE,PSE,TSC,MSR,PAE,MCE,CX8,APIC,SEP,MTRR> cpu0: features bfe9fbff<PGE,MCA,CMOV,PAT,CFLUSH,DS,ACPI,MMX> cpu0: features bfe9fbff<FXSR,SSE,SSE2,SS,HTT,TM,SBF> cpu0: features2 40c39d<SSE3,DTES64,MONITOR,DS-CPL,EST,TM2,SSSE3,xTPR,PDCM> cpu0: "Intel (R) Atom(TM) CPU N270 @ 1.60GHz" cpu0: I-cache 32KB 64B/line 8-way cpu0: Initial APIC ID 0 cpu0: Cluster/Package ID 0 cpu0: SMT ID 0 cpu0: family 06 model 0c extfamily 00 extmodel 01 [4]: Copyright (c) 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 The NetBSD Foundation, Inc.
