Needing helpHello, I work with the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. We have an E-Portfolio project and we are requesting your help. Originally, we worked with LiveText and TaskStream, but were forced to go with an open source alternative (for multiple reasons I can explain later). We are working with Sakai and we understand your project also works with it. Our IT team has been working on configuring the system and they have confronted difficulties. In the meantime, our faculty continues to work on the rubrics and standards, but are not sure as to how it will look in the system, because it is still not available to work with. Is it possible to make arrangements with your University to: 1) help us with the configuration of Sakai, and 2) see a demonstration of how the rubrics look like in Sakai. If it is possible, naturally we will draw up an institutional contract. Hoping to hear from you soon, Dr. Juan Meléndez College of Education ---------------------- This automatic notification message was sent by Sakai Collab (https://collab.sakaiproject.org//portal) from the Project: Portfolio site. Re: Needing helpThere are a few examples in the community library that highlight how some of the institutions using OSP have configured it. http://openedpractices.org/practices If provided, you can download and import matrices, forms, portfolio templates to recreate much of what each institution created in your instance of OSP. If you have any questions about how to do it, let us know! Re: Needing helpI may be misunderstanding what help you need Juan, but perhaps this will help: Are you looking for a working Sakai instance into which you could load your own OSP components to preview them? If so, you could use rSmart's Sakai CLE sandbox: http://www.sakaisandbox.com/ Note that there are some differences between our CLE and the community release, although the basic OSP functionality is much the same. Learn more at: http://www.rsmart.com/sakai If you are looking for examples of other OSP components that you can also try out in the sandbox (or other Sakai instance), you can check out rSmart's Portfolio Showcase that currently has three distinct examples: http://www.rsmart.com/portfolios As Sean suggested, you can also find other OSP component examples in the community's OpenedPractices.org repository under Teaching & Learning Practices: http://openedpractices.org/practices and Teaching & Learning Resources: http://openedpractices.org/resources -- Nate Angell Director of Special Projects http://rsmart.com/ On Sep 11, 2008, at 10:30 AM, Juan Melendez wrote: > Hello, > I work with the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. > We have an E-Portfolio project and we are requesting your help. > Originally, we worked with LiveText and TaskStream, but were forced > to go with an open source alternative (for multiple reasons I can > explain later). > We are working with Sakai and we understand your project also works > with it. > > Our IT team has been working on configuring the system and they have > confronted difficulties. > In the meantime, our faculty continues to work on the rubrics and > standards, but are not sure as to how it will look in the system, > because it is still not available to work with. > > Is it possible to make arrangements with your University to: 1) help > us with the configuration of Sakai, and 2) see a demonstration of > how the rubrics look like in Sakai. > > If it is possible, naturally we will draw up an institutional > contract. > > Hoping to hear from you soon, > > Dr. Juan Meléndez > College of Education > > > This automatic notification message was sent by Sakai Collab (https://collab.sakaiproject.org//portal > ) from the Project: Portfolio site. > You can modify how you receive notifications at My Workspace > > Preferences. ---------------------- This automatic notification message was sent by Sakai Collab (https://collab.sakaiproject.org//portal) from the Project: Portfolio site.
