I was recently contacted by a company that was interested in obtaining some level of commercial support for Woodstox. The context is web services development, and they were having certain issues with the processing stack they are using, including performance problems.
Given my experience both working on Woodstox and developing web services outside scope of Woodstox this seems like something I would be interested in investigating.
What I am wondering is whether there might be other entities possibly interested in getting similar work done: not only regarding Woodstox itself, but with things that use Woodstox, or one of the other open source packages I have been involved in (like Jackson json parser/generator, StaxMate convenience xml processing library, Java Uuid Generator).
Beyond actual deliverables you can download, I have spend lots of time figuring out exactly how, why, and how fast things work or do not work in this domain. So perhaps my experiences would be valuable for others to share. :-)
So, if you might be interested in such support arrangements (or related services, for development, consulting etc), feel free to send my a note: even if saying that you are perfectly happy with everything that is and just have no need to fix "thing that aint broke".
Specifically, I will try to limit sending lots of advertisements on these mailing lists (if something comes out of such support plans), so if you want to keep updated on such plans, let me know.
I will probably create a forum for followups (like a Ning social network).
