Nebeans 6.1 plugin for Geronimo 2.x

Hi Jacek,

Looking for Netbeans 6.1 plugin for Geronimo 2.x, I stumbled upon this:

Following your instructions that old e-mail back in 2007.11.28, the (step 4) Install/Reload in Target Platform failed with error:

Scanning for modules in E:\Program Files\NetBeans 6.1
E:\Program Files\NetBeans 6.1\harness\build.xml:97: Cannot compile against a module: E:\Program Files\NetBeans 6.1\platform8\modules\org-jdesktop-layout.jar because of dependency: org.jdesktop.layout/1 > 1.6
BUILD FAILED (total time: 0 seconds)

I then start Netbeans 6.5 Beta.  Upon opening the plugin project to build the nbm, I received a MS Visual C++ runtime library eror:
Program: e:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.6.0_07\jre\bin\java.exe

An application has made an attempt to to load the C runtime library incorrectly.  Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Has anyone able to get Jacek's plugin working on the current Netbeans 6.1? Anyhelp is greatly appreciated!!  I'm using Netbeans 6.1 w/ all the current updates and JDK1.6u7 (x64) on WinXP Pro x64.

Hi Tommy,

I don't know whether it works with NB 6.1 or not as I'm working on the
plugin with NB 6.5 daily [1] only. I've been working on it since the
very first day of NB 6.5 so I don't expect any troubles with that
particular version.

BTW, I'm struggling with webapp deployment right now. It deploys
properly, but somehow the web url is not returned from Geronimo DM and
NetBeans is unable to start up a browser. I don't think there's much
value trying out the plugin now as an end user - Geronimo starts/stops
and the webapp deploys, but a browser is not fired up so although nice
exercise to see Geronimo running from within NetBeans I can't see
anything fancy from a common java ee developer's perspective. If
however you want to jump in and help out developing the plugin you'll
receive very warm welcome! ;-)

Hi Guys,

I had the same problem with building it for 6.1.

I have managed to check out and build your nbm in netbeans 6.5 beta without a hitch.

It ran my "geronimo-tomcat6-javaee5-2.1.1" based geronimo and deployed a noddy web app too

It didnt bring the browser up though I had to nav there myself, it did run Ok.

Keep up the good work Jacek, look forward to the finished module.

Hi Neil,

I'm glad to hear so. You're probably the sole user of the module so
far beside myself. I haven't been able to work on it for the past two
weeks, but hopefully find some spare time next week.
