Hello My Fellow IT Pros
This is my last post on this subject.

I have but three things to say!
Did the recruiter DENY any of my statements?
Did they say they paid me for my time or mileage?
Or that I did not drive 600 Miles for an interview that did not happen?
Did she deny that I had to deal with their CEO(Could I have done that with
TekSystems CEO)?

Finally all life is not positive, and as a responsible member of this
Mailing list I ONLY post on things that I have experience with. Negative or
not, it is our right.

When I posted my comments I opened myself to negative comments- Do you see
me complaining (THIS TIME).

Yes I have made negative comments, so has many others- this is the very
reason CF-Jobs Talk Mailing list exists is to voice your job experience or
job hunting experiences good and BAD

I followed protocol I did not reply to the CF- Jobs list

I did not slander anyone I told of my personal experiences with a company
that made a public statement about a job on the CF-Jobs list,
I did not say DON'T WORK WITH That company. I said make sure you know all
the facts before you jump in

I posted my personal experience, plain and simple.

ANYONE NOT WANTING NEGATIVE POSTS THERE IS AN UNSUBSCRIBE LINK,

SORRY, THAT IS THE END OF THIS MATTER

MICHAEL COULD KILL MY POST AND REMOVE IT FROM GOOGLE AS WELL, I HAVE MADE MY
POINT!

There is no need for me to reply to your statements, but if you want a
statement or a recollection of the events, you were late for the interview.
Regardless of  the circumstances, bad weather, traffic, etc.  The client had
other meetings to attend to and was not able to meet with you after you were
late.  The President of our company stepped up to handle the situation with
you because you and your wife both were calling myself and the client
leaving messages that were inappropriate.  I do not want any further
communications with you.  At some point, you need to look at the damage you
are causing by writing the messages that you write on the boards, especially
when it is in an industry that you provide services in.

As far as I am concerned, this should be removed from the lists and Google,
etc.

Andrea et al,
I do think this is a bit public and without knowing the full situation
it is difficult to judge but from what I can determine from this spat:

The critical issue here is that your company offered to reimburse him
for travel costs.

As to why he had to do a drive 1200 mile round trip and not fly (and
provide hotel accommodation for the night before the interview) is a bit
strange. This may have been your decision not to offer flight/hotel or
drive/hotel or he chose to drive up and do the interview on the same
day, which I would never consider doing and indicated by the fact he was
late for his interview. It is at this point the relationship/interview
process got messed up.

Somebody made a poor decision. Whoever it is I hope has learnt from this
experience. Candidates need to arrive fresh and ready for an interview,
not messed up by a 8+ hour drive before hand either through choice or by
not being offered a hotel package.

However if you did offer to reimburse the individual for his travel
costs and you actually interviewed him, no matter how badly the
interview went, he is due his travel costs. The rest is just noise.

Regards,
Adam

I know this thread is supposed to be closed, but this seems like a decent way to salvage it a bit and make some use out of it.  I agree with the sentiments below but wanted to add two cents.  Completely theoretically speaking, I would think that if a company promised reimbursement but then decided not to interview for WHATEVER reason (and the prospective employee is able, even if late), they still have an obligation to reimburse, unless they specifically outlined the conditions of that reimbursement to the employee.  This also kind of suggests that for such things where money is involved, you really need some kind of agreement in writing signed by both parties outlining what is expected and what may make the agreement null and void.  Then at least there wouldn't be any unexpected surprises on either side...
