Mythtv - hauppauge Nova 500 ubunutu 8.04Hello, Anyone out there using the hauppauge nova-t 500 tuner card with hardy? I can see the load loaded in lsmod and lsusb but it doesn't detect in mythtv, i can see the device in /dev/dvb/adapter0 and adapter1 Using the "scan" just fails "tuning failed" for each station. Just curious to know if you have to compile a driver for it? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. _________________________________________________________________ Are you a friend magnet? Re: Mythtv - hauppauge Nova 500 ubunutu 8.04Have you got a channels.conf file? if so you could try using mplayer to test it out.
eg mplayer -msglevel all=6 dvb://2@"WIN TV Canberra" where "2" = the card/adapter#+1 eg 0=1 and 2=1 also you can using dvbscan as well. RE: Mythtv - hauppauge Nova 500 ubunutu 8.04i tried setting up the conf as per some instructions i found scan dvb-t/au-Canberra > channels.conf Which reports tuning failed. I'll look into mplayer and dvbscan. I'm also going to be purchasing a digital coax to amp cable but its on the Realtek ALC1200 if that helps your question you posted? i can let you know if the sound outputs correctly. Re: Mythtv - hauppauge Nova 500 ubunutu 8.04Ooops-Sorry forgot to cc the list
I responded as follows: Hi Mike I have this card working fine in my myth box Whilst the card is supported under Hardy, the module doesn't turn on the cards on board tuner amplifier by default. Try: sudo gedit /etc/modprobe.d/options and /Add:/ options dvb-usb-dib0700 force_lna_activation=1 and reboot Then try tuning stations. It'll probably tune fine Hope this helps Regards Ian Bardsley Mike J wrote: > Hello, > > Anyone out there using the hauppauge nova-t 500 tuner card with hardy? > > I can see the load loaded in lsmod and lsusb but it doesn't detect in mythtv, i can see the device in /dev/dvb/adapter0 and adapter1 > > Using the "scan" just fails "tuning failed" for each station. > > Just curious to know if you have to compile a driver for it? > > Any help would be appreciated. > > Thank you. > > _________________________________________________________________ > Are you a friend magnet?
