My LDAP password just changed to encrypted form

Running 1.3.9(0.3)Latest
I made a change to my config and all of the sudden LDAP stopped working.

Looking in the log, it was changed from my plain text password to an
encrypted one?

For example:
Before->mypassword
After ->95QRZmwope3vU

The weird thing is that I saved several other things this morning(and
for the past several years) without it changing my password.
But when I changed 'maxSMTPipSessions', my ldap password magically
changed too.
I changed it back and it seems to be working ok after I unlocked the
account.

Kind Regards,
Brett

It appears that with Firefox 3.0, it has an issue.  I changed another
config option and saved and my ldap password was again instantly
converted to the encrypted version (after listening to my hard drive
grind for a couple of seconds, and I'm not short on RAM or disk space
[which is real-time defragged]).  I then opened ASSP up in IE7 and made
the same changes, but the ldap password was not changed (and no hard
drive grinding...which I suppose is related to the password encryption
method).

Kind Regards,
Brett

Is there no one else using Firefox 3 and having this problem?  It
doesn't happen using IE7.  I have come to the conlusion that this is not
limited to changing any one specific field.  It can happen after saving
changes to any field.  If I make a change to something and save, it
saves the change AND it changes the LDAP password to the encoded version
(which my AD servers refuse).  Also, if I don't make ANY changes and
press the apply button, it will change the LDAP password to the encoded
version as well.
