Multiple email address

Hi!

Over-time I have come to use two different email address (public@ and lists@) and this Nabble account uses lists@.
However, lately I've come to the conclusion that it doesn't serve a purpose anymore.

So, my idea is to drop lists@ and instead use only public@.

I have some questions in regards to that and and the fact that I saw that I can change my "E-mail" under "Edit Profile":

 1. Can I change my email address to an "already existing" email address? Something tells me that Nabble reserved those in somewhat way.
 2. What happens if I change my email address for this account to public@? Will I start using it when I post as well? Do I lose Email alerts etc?
 3. I would prefer to see earlier posts from both public@ and lists@ as made by me - is this possible?
 4. To take 2) one step further, if I decide to drop both public@ and lists@ and go with a 3rd email address what are my options and what happens Nabble-wise?

Sorry, but no, you can't.

If you change to a new address, your post to mailing list will be from your new address, which means that you will need to subscribe to the list again, or your post will get rejected as non-subscriber post. The email alert will remain the same, but will get sent to your new address.

Not possible right now.

The feature you need has been discussed internally before. It's a merge-account feature. This is needed for users like you who used different email addresses to post to mailing lists over the time. This feature is on the to-do list, but it's not a high priority right now, because there are only one or two requests in the past.

Your request  is adding weight to this feature. I think the development may get to it in a month or so.

Hmm.. That means that I am stuck then. I have my Nabble account setup with email alerts etc just the way I want it.
If you decide to implement the merge feature then this will work as well correct? I have access to that mail address and respond to confirmation mails etc.

Great. I would really appreciate features just as merge and change email (including to an exisiting address).
The reason why I continue to use this account was that the other was "Jimisola Laursen-2" or something similar which was very annoying  as "There can only be one" :)

While on it I asked quoting to be a bit more standard like using ">". It is very convenient is replies when you split up the mail to answer different parts at a time - like our two in this thread. Now I have to go ">>" and ">" manually which is very time-consuming. I find myself doing this quite often in the regular mailing lists as well.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you on this thread. We will do this eventually, but right now we have several high priority things such as speed and search. It will take some time before we come to this feature. Sorry about that.
