Ok since the latest episode sort of solved the mugic problem, I am think of ways one can counter or at least spot the weaknesses of a frontline "no mugic" and supporting "mugic filled".

Ok I have found two ways to deal with such a tactic:

Cause your opponent to waste his or her Mugic cards early. Best for you to have some sort of cancelation mugic like 'Refrain of denial' or 'Song of Obstruction', and 'Reprise' to reuse it.

Second is the location. Get certain locations, like 'Runic Grove', in which only certain mugic can be casted, if you think your opponent uses only a certain mugic card.

Anymore suggestions?

I have a few more. If you aren't going to rely too much on Mugic yourself, you can include locations like Eye of the Maelstrom that make your opponent discard Mugic. Also, if I'm not mistaken, Song of Mugisteal lets you steal Mugic cards from your opponent's hand. It would also be cool if there were effects that made your opponent lose mugic counters. But it's definitely important that you rob your opponent of the ability to use mugic, or make the mugic useless after they do play it.

Along with those things, check out the Battlegear in this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=QOQONccwlqA. About 39 seconds in they show a Battlegear called Skeletal Steed, which gives the equipped creature Range and Swift 1. Range lets you move through occupied spaces, and Swift 1 lets you move one extra space. So, if your opponent is hiding their weaker Mugicians behind their front line, you just use this battlegear to bypass the front line and attack the support creatures directly.

Well the easiest and probally most prominent way of combating that sort of line up would be to use either use that set up youself and fight fire with fire, hopefully to break though their line and pummel their mugic users, while supporting yours with your own mugic.

[SPOILERS FOR WHO EVERY HAS NOT SEEN CHAOTIKINGS]

In this episode Kaz used mugic to destroy creatures not currently in play to weaken his opponents hive ability, so this suggest that you can use mugic to strike at creatures who arn't currently in battle. This allows you to take down that pesky Laarina or Solvis from far away with offensive mugic.
