Re: Moving cursor automaticallyA3: Please.
Q3: Should I avoid top posting on this mailing list? A2: Because, by reversing the order of a conversation, it leaves the reader without much context, and makes them read a message in an unnatural order. Q2: Why is top posting irritating? A1: It is the practice of putting your reply to a message before the quoted message, instead of after the (trimmed) message. Q1: What is top posting? -- It isn't worth a nickel to two guys like you or me, but to a collector it is worth a fortune --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: claws-mail-users-unsubscribe@... There are advantages and disadvantages of both. BTW: Take a look at folder/properties. I have a number of my folders set for a default to: address as well as templates. Spare on alcohol? For one, you get the see the message immediately, and you don't have to scroll down. Then, if you need the context, you can scroll down. Some people when posting tend to retain all the context instead of trimming, so with bottom posting you have to scroll down quite a bit. -- -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@...> Boston Linux and Unix PGP key id: 537C5846 PGP Key fingerprint: 3D1B 8377 A3C0 A5F2 ECBB CA3B 4607 4319 537C 5846 |

In a help-type list like this, the context is very important, but in many other forums, you only really need the subject and maybe a few lines of context. Again, personal preferences as well as the preference of the list members. -- -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@...> Boston Linux and Unix PGP key id: 537C5846 PGP Key fingerprint: 3D1B 8377 A3C0 A5F2 ECBB CA3B 4607 4319 537C 5846 |
