This is my first post to the list, I have looked for similar problems but I
do not find related information. Last Friday I tried to install the complete
Miktex 2.7 in a portable computer with Windows Vista, with a CD with all the
necessary files (downloadad in another computer with faster Internet
connection). The installation did not work, it crushed in the middle of the
process. Then, I manually removed the MikTeX 2.7 tree. I thought that
perhaps some files may be corrupted, and therefore took my portable to my
office to download the Miktex 2.7 files directly in it. The problem is the
following: after downloading the net installer, when I run it, a Windows
error message appears,
The operation could not be completed for the following reason:
Windows API error 21: The device is not ready (this part is in Spanish
in my computer: El dispositivo no esta listo)
Detais: G:\Miktex\MikTeX 2.7 Setup\README.TXT
The letter G is the CD drive in my computer. Does anybody know how to solve
this problem. I suppose I have to remove some file in my computer which
tells the installer to look into the CD, but I do not know which one.
