Has anyone experimented with dumping all of the sources of content for a
template based portfolio and focusing on making a fancy, multipart form
for the "outline" options as the place where the student focuses all of
their creative energy?
Some advantages to this approach may be:
- you could export the custom form, the xsl and import it really easily.
- the user experience would be just like they would expect it:
-- New [template name] Portfolio
-- Enter content
-- Publish it for an audience
Some disadvantages:
- Limited to relatively simple portfolio presentations (a blog, resume,
etc) where data is gathered in a single form
Some other ideas:
- the template could include an HTML view and an RSS feed
- many "micro-portfolios" could be aggregated via their feeds into a
more complete/interesting presentation
Just thinking aloud about how to do something new with the same 'ol.
