<br>TeXlive and siunitx while I was getting it to 1.0 status. The
<br>conclusion seemed to be that there was no half-way house: either it is
<br>in and "release status", or its not release status and it doesn't go in
<br>at all.

<br>name of the package is "comprehensive".
<br><br>You can also search the Windows fonts folder for the shape you need.
<br>Xe(la)tex may allow you to
<br>use a symbol found in a system font directly (generally as a text
<br>font, so in a \mbox for latex), or
<br>you can try to make the font available to LaTeX.
<br><br>If all that fails, look for the symbol in a book or paper and put a
<br>scanned image (.png) on the web where we can
<br>view it.

<br><br>Doing "make install" more than once without analyzing the reason
<br>for a failure just complicates matters. Did you get errors from the
<br>"make install"?
<br><br>You should spend a little time learning some of the basics of unix/linux
<br>programming. Consider your question part of your final exam. Without
<br>some understanding of the basics you are really groping in the dark.
