Memory issues - Windows

One of my customers is getting Out of Memory, Stack space, and out of  
stack memory errors
  and Named Selection cannot be created out of stack memory.

This is working with 4D 2003r8.2 on Windows XP 2002 SP2 client/server.

The problem seems to get worse as the day wears on.

Any guidance on the possible solutions for this type of error.

I have got them to throw away the prefs folder including the res and  
rex files, but this did not seem to make any difference.

I then got them to reduce the size of the selections involved.
