Media type categories in Media Queries

The Media Queries specification uses a set of categories, such as visual, tactile, "tv", in the "Applies to" clause of the media features specifications. I could not find where these categories are defined and what "media types" belong to which categories.

That is defined in CSS 2.1, section 7.3.1:

(CSS 2.1 is a dependency for Media Queries.)
