Measuring Ethernet Link Negotiation

Hi All,

I recently had some bad experience by attaching a simple oscilloscope
probe to Ethernet TP wires.

Obviously, the missing equipment is something like the Tektronix
differential probe P6246. Wow! This is more expensive than a middle
class oscilloscope.

Anyone know a more affordable solution to track the initial Ethernet
negotiation?
