Hmmm I clicked shift/ctrl cos it says
>Hold shift/control to select multiple images in the main images view. You
>can drag those images into the tree. <

It selected all images between the first I clicked and the last even when I
had unclicked images between.

eg clicking 2, 7, 10 (in whatever order)  selects all images between 2 and
10

So clicking 7, 10, 2 selects all between 2 and 10

Whereas holding down only Shift,

and clicking 7, 10, 2 only selects the images between 2 and 7

holding only ctrl down selects only the last image clicked.

Interesting but useless information  :).

Neat.  That might make the basis for a much better "move photo" system :-)

It was bugging me for some time now...

We are currently concentrating on choosing PHP framework. No question, it is important; but there is also a question of DHTML/Ajax framework, and more fundamental question, how much functionality we want to push onto the client (JavaScript/DHTML), how much functionality should be on the server (PHP), and what are the integration patterns (Ajax / non-Ajax) that we want to employ.

The practical question is what RIA framework we want to use? Are we going to stick with YUI, or this Ext JS, or DHTMLGoodies, or something else. And what are the criteria that we would use to make this choice? Probably, one of the criteria is the longevity of the team behind the library... the dtree library that we are using in albumselect hasn't been updated since 2003

some time ago I checked out http://www.qcodo.com/ and was pretty
impressed by it. Due to time/money/fast I went with drupal back
then ....

Would be interested to know what you guys think about qcodo.

Yes, but we would need it to select multiple SEPARATE images rather than
just a block of images.

Clicking 2, 7, 10 (in whatever order)  selects all images between 2 and 10
Which means we'd then have to delete the six other images we don;t want.

(The move feature in G2 works well)

I agree that this is an important decision.  I haven't made any progress
towards it, though.  Anybody have any thoughts on which framework they
prefer?

I'm not an expert and have no real bias one way or the other.

My only comment would be that we have used YUI to date and is there any reason to expect it not to meet our needs going forward.  As we start the sprint next week, we have several balls in the air... framework decision, what db's, what platforms, what does the single theme look like... So barring any compelling reasons,  my vote is to a go with what we have, declare a victory and move on to the other issues.

I agree with Tim, there's a lot to sift through already and just a
week to go.

One interesting point to consider is that YUI 3 should look and feel a
bit more like jQuery. I think this point and the number of widgets YUI
provides is enough to stick with it. http://developer.yahoo.com/yui/3/

I think the only reason to consider another JS framework is if a PHP
framework is chosen that provides out-of-the-box integration with a JS
framework. Zend Framework 1.6 and dojo 1.1 is an example of this.
