An updated version of the Maria 1.0 Preview has been released. BASIC INFORMATION ABOUT MARIA - The first version of Maria is focusing on delivering "MyISAM with crash recovery". - We now have a feature-complete development version 1.0. We plan to extend it with some optimizations (especially to improve performance on concurrent updates) for a version 1.5. This version will then be stabilized to be the first Maria GA (Generally Available). - Maria 1.0 is now released on Forge (link below) as a Preview based on MySQL 5.1. When version 1.5 is stabilized this will be merged into the main MySQL server line where it will GA. The exact target MySQL version of Maria 1.5 is not yet decided. Below some relevant links related to the release. Please try out Maria and provide us with feedback! FIXED AND OPEN BUGS The team is happy that since the first preview released on the Forge on January 27th, only few bugs (around 10) were found... not bad for a first shot. Of those, here are the ones which we have fixed: Bug#34062 Maria table corruption on master Bug#34066 Assertion failure in pagecache_collect_changed_blocks_with_lsn() Bug#34106 Auto_increment is reset to 1 when table is recovered from crash Bug#34114 maria_chk reports false error when several tables on command-line Bug#34250 Assertion failed: block->hash_link->pageno < ((1ull) << 40), file .\ma_pagecache Bug#34598 "Invalid address alignment" crash on hpita [ no bug number ] Windows-specific bug in Maria's transaction logging. Those which we have not fixed yet (as of today, four crash bugs) can be viewed by going to http://bugs.mysql.com clicking on "advanced search", and selecting category "Maria storage engine". We are working on them and hope to have them fixed in a few days; when this is done we will publish "snapshots" for certain platforms (binaries compiled from our development tree corresponding to a certain moment in time, but which have not been submitted to our entire QA process).
