This release is really stable, I did some testing on the original test
build and I managed to
produce 30,000 tiles without a single error using managed SDF's.

a big thanks to the development team for their effort on this one :)

Some parts of this message have been removed. Learn more about Nabble's security policy.

MapGuide is still using an uninstall/reinstall procedure for upgrades.  Basically:

-          Backup your repository and any custom web files, templates etc you have made

-          Uninstall Web Extensions and Server

-          Reboot

-          Install Server and Web Extensions

-          Put any custom code you had back in place (repositories should still be intact)

I would also recommend upgrading to Fusion 1.1 once it’s released.  It’s way closer to production-ready than 1.0.6, and only requires some basic patches (http://trac.osgeo.org/mapguide/ticket/676) to get it to work with MGOS 2.0.2

I’m sure that I speak for many others on the list here when I say:

“It sure would be nice if there was an upgrade option….”

Ya, really. I second that (for the nth time)...I'm afraid that I won't be going through all that just to go from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2 (a minor update)....not enough improvements / fixes for me just yet.

I hear what you’re saying, but I personally doubt that there will ever be an upgrade option without strong community support.

We are relying on Autodesk to package MapGuide Open Source, something that I want to change as soon as I have some time to put together an NSIS-based installer script.

This would have many benefits, including allowing us to create installer packages nightly/weekly, but I personally have no interest in tackling the complexity that is involved in setting up an upgrade option.

Is there a ticket started on trac for that? That might be a good place to start - if there was a ticket, maybe (granted, only maybe) someone could tackle that, or help out....

Not as far as I can see.

There are definitely some related tickets (at least #454, #447, #405, #361, #360, #359 – possibly more) that could be tackled as part of this, but nothing specifically for a community-written installer.

Feel free to create the ticket if you’d like.

Guys,

I may have mentioned it before, but I'm also interested in getting
a package for FDO and MapGuide contributed for OSGeo4W.  I'd be willing
to help some, but I'm not willing to take on primary responsibility.

   http://osgeo4w.osgeo.org/

Best regards,
