Mandriva Linux 2009 released and available on mirrors

Hi all,

Mandriva has today released Mandriva Linux 2009, the new major release
of the popular distribution.

2009 is a bold release which brings the new KDE 4.1 as the default
desktop, along with a re-designed installer and Mandriva Control Center
and many other new features. Other significant updates include GNOME
2.24, OpenOffice.org 3, Mozilla Firefox 3, and kernel 2.6.27. Key
features include new graphical in-line upgrade capability, netbook
compatibility, class-leading hardware support, and support for working
with mobile devices.

Get it at the download page ( http://www.mandriva.com/en/download ), or

Congrats to all! Another awesome release of Mandriva. In about two
weeks we have an event for all Slovenian open source software
translators and I will be handing out the new Mandriva. However, in
order to do so I would like to know which of the four Mandriva Linux
2009 One CDs with KDE 4 comes with Slovenian language on them.

Hmm, our mirror is not there yet, what is needed to get it there?

Sorry, there is no Mandirva Linux One 2009 CD with Slovenian locale.
Would you like some instructions to build it?

It is now. It takes some times to the cron job to notice new mirrors
synchronisation.

Basically, you have to have a system with enough space in /var for the
chroot + built images (about 4G)

Open config/live.cfg and add settings for your locale the line after
"regions => {".
It could look this way:

    regions => {
        welsh => [qw(cy)],
        slovenian => [qw(sl)],
        #- the "all" region has a magical behavior and selects all langs                                                                      
        int => [qw(de en es fr it pl pt_BR ru)],
        'jp-zh' => [qw(en ja zh_CN zh_TW)],
        'afro-asia' => [qw(ar he hi id ko ms zu)],
        'extra-i18n' => [qw(bg cs da el en et eu hu lt nb nn nl sv uk uz)],
        guadec => [qw(de en es fr it nb nn nl pl pt_BR ru tr)],

Open config/settings.cfg and edit the region and repository
settings, for example:
region=slovenian
repository=http://my.mirror.org/dis/official/cooker

(you can use http mirror, or local mirror)

Then run (as root, from the live-config dir):
../draklive/draklive --clean --all

And after a few dozens of minutes, enjoy the iso image in
/var/lib/draklive/build/*/dist
