Main menu proposal

With the adsdition of features, it is maybe time to think about a main
menu structure for thinkedit. The mnu would show on top of every page
and would be like a traditional application menu (File / Edit / Tools
/ Help ...)

Here is the proposal :

- Structure
   - Favorites [...] (allow users to have favorites, and put them here)
   - Manage favorites

- Content
   - Users
   - Discussions
   - Any other table defined as user editable

- Files

- Config
  - Edit config
  - Manage content types
  - User options
  - Global options
  - Cache Options
      - Clear node cache
      - Clear page cache
      - Clear all caches
      - [x] Enable / disable cache

- Help
   - Online user guide
   - Online support
   - About

Not everything will be added right now, but this way you get the idea.

The menu could be done with this :
http://be.twixt.us/jquery/suckerFish.php (bottom of page)

What do you think ?

Personaly, I think this would be a great improvement for the ThinkEDIT interface.
I also think this kind of drop down menu would be the most efficient way to accomplish this.

Some parts of this message have been removed. Learn more about Nabble's security policy.
In my opinion the general idea of a menu is good. but i suggest to think where start to put things in a tree instead of the menu. For example maybe some contents are suitable to be directly accessible by the tree (decide what by configuration?).

But I'm a little late in the discussion. I have some general idea about good CMS interfaces and I don't want to be annoying with you guys that work around this project for long time :-).

Do you mean, to put some of the items I proposed inside the structure?
This can be a good idea as well (for instance, I plan to have a
"trash" folder inside the tree where deleted items are moved). My main
concern is to avoid having to insert items in the tree database on
installation, because in this case, upgrades are harder to manage.
We'll have to think more about this.

Not at all, the menu discussion just started, so your ideas are
welcome ! If you have the time to describe your ideal CMS interface
I'd be glad to discuss it.
