Magic value error

My data base will not run. It gives the error:

 

java.io.IOException: Format invalid: Magic value is not as expected.

 

reported by com.mckoi.debug.Debug, followed by several lines of additional error

messages. Those are then followed by:

 

Exception in thread "main"

java.lang.Runtime Exception: IO Error: Format invalid: Magic value is not as expected.

 

As far as I can tell, the data base shut down without incident but just will not restart.

I ran the DBConglomerateRepairTool but it still reports the same problem. Anyone

have any ideas of what might cause this or how to recover from it or prevent it in the

future.
