I have sox 14.0.1 installed from RPM on Fedora Core 6. I'm trying to
attain MP3 decoding ability without building sox from source (though I
can do that if I absolutely have to). I've obtained a copy of
libsox_fmt_mp3.so (and libsox_fmt_mp3.so.0 and libsox_fmt_mp3.so.0.0.0)
and placed them in /usr/lib/sox, but sox doesn't seem to recognize them:
"unknown file type `mp3'". Does sox not have run-time library loading
enabled by default, or am I missing something? Any help with this would
be appreciated.
