Dear Friends,

I don't see the movie when I look at the presentation in Skim or Acrobat Reader. Any advice?

Here is the beamer file:

For multimedia I recommend using the movie15 package instead of the
one bundled with Beamer:
http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/help/Catalogue/entries/movie15.html

I'm not sure if it helps in this case, but movie15 has better support
for different video formats.

Also note that viewing embedded movies does not work in Linux (i.e. you can
generate the correct PDF, but not view it).  That is, it should be possible
with the proprietary real player (and its own movie format), but obviously
it's very hard to get that working:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=460115&page=2

I especially found this link useful:
http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.3bca21c1/12

However, so far I have gone the \href-route with much more success.  Actually,
I do not even use \href{run: anymore, since that needs a boilerplate shell
script for every embedded movie.  Instead, I put the attached script into my
$PATH and set by browser in the preferences to be "acroread-browser".

Also, I have configured MPlayer to have no window border (or was that the
default?), so the presentation experience is really quite good.  (Note the
safety "-vo x11", which is suboptimal but often necessary when accelerated
video is not output to the attached beamer... that can be quite emberassing!)
