Hi,

I've been recently suggested to launch an attack on MLP as the ultimate challenge to take up.

All things considered, I will not (for my part) tackle the (arduous) task of devising an MLP encoder, as legal issues look to be all but intractable.

However, as an MLP DE-coder is apparently under way on another project, I could consider the option of integrating it to dvda-author, just as I'm currently adding new FLAC versions.

What does the following refer to?

"just as I'm currently adding new FLAC versions."

I am a bit out of touch with dvda-author. I played with it some (considerable) time back, but the two track limitation and the inability to compress data led me to abandon DVD-As as a distribution medium.

I recently bought a Core Sound (ambisonic soundfield) TetraMic, so I am looking for a means to create 4 and/or 6 channel media to play back full surround recordings. Cirlinca's DVD Audio Solo does a good job of recording these, but I don't believe it will compress data.

What is the status of multichannel, compressed data in dvda-author?
