wondering if anyone else has bumped into this.
I'm running MH on windows XP (on a VM on a host OS of XP with VMWare Server).
I have
voice_text_card = 1
speak_card = 1
in mh.private.ini
Every time MH speaks I get a VMWare popup error:
Error opening Sound Device 0: The specified format is not supported
or cannot be translated. Use the capabilities function to determine
the supported formats. Sound will not be available.
The sound works, I just get a popup each time speaking occurs.
I'm pretty sure it's tied somehow to the microsoft TTS function,
because when I open Control Panel > Speech I get a similar error
Error opening sound device 0: There is no driver installed on your
system. sound will not be available.
All well and good except that except for the popups that say it
doesn't work, it works. the popup is definitely VMWare, since the
popup occurs on the host OS, not the guest.
Any ideas?
