Hi All,

Can somebody suggest a Microprocessor that is currently in production that has at a minimum 2 CAN controllers(3 would be better), 1 LIN controller and 1 UART.  It seems like there should be one out there that meets those requirements but I haven’t found it yet that seems to be readily available yet.

 8 or 16 bit

20 – 40Mhz

Internal flash & RAM.

Not a lot of other IO is needed, just enough to flip enables and stuff.

Alternately, has anybody heard of a standalone LIN controller?  I could bit bang it but I’d rather not.

I have recently worked with PCI and ST10/C167 controllers.  I figure that somebody on this list would know off the top of their head.

 Thanks

Brian,

See if the TMS320F2808 controller from TI would be a good fit. It has 64Kx16 words of Flash and 2 CAN ports and a bunch of I/Os. What it lacks is a LIN. It has 2 standard UARTs, one of which you may be able to software tweak for LIN operation.

Regards,
Hareesh Jana

probably you can combine a big MCU with 2-3 CAN and a smaller sub-mcu with LIN module

Brian,

This isn’t a recommendation (I know nothing about them other than what I found by searching)

but these offer 2-3 CAN ports and there are APP notes related to LIN:
