Hi, y'all!

My husband and I watched "Logopolis" last weekend for our date night, and we loved this DVD!!!

First of all, Elisabeth Sladen gets mentioned twice during the commentary, and she isn't even in this story (unless you count the little clip of Sarah saying "Doctor!" in the regeneration sequence).  How cool is that!

Second, the commentary is HILARIOUS--especially when Tom Baker and Christopher Bidmead discuss how to deal with the aches and pains of aging, and when Christopher Bidmead tries to explain Hexidecimal to Janet Fielding.  It was ROTFL hilarious!!!

Finally, Tom Baker managed to avoid making salacious comments for the duration of the entire commentary track.  Good job, Tom Baker, keep it up!  You can be funny without being insulting!

This DVD was part of a 3 DVD set called "New Beginnings."  The set also includes "The Keeper of Traken" and "Castrovalva."  My friend loaned me the set, but I love it so much that I am going to buy my own copy.  I just can't tell you how very, very good this set is!!!  You all have been so kind in recommending DVD's to me; now I want to recommend this DVD set to you.  :)

Thanks for the enthusiastic review and reco.

But inquiring minds want to know ... what were the two comments re: Elisabeth Sladen?

TIA.

Let's see, I can't remember the comments verbatim, but the first comment, which is right at the beginning of the DVD, was Janet Fielding and Tom Baker saying how great a lot of the Doctor Who assistants still look, with Elisabeth Sladen getting special mention.  The second comment, which was about half-way through the DVD, was about how good Elisabeth Sladen's performance in "School Reunion" was.  (As you can see, the commentators didn't restrict their comments to the "Logopolis" story--they wandered all over, which was interesting and fun.  But don't worry, there's still a lot of commentary regarding "Logopolis" on the track too.)  If you get this DVD, I hope you enjoy it!

Argh! Logopolis!
I watched it and found it immensely dull. There's no plot, the Watcher is given no explanation, Nyssa appears out of nowhere for no apparent reason and I could go on.
I didn't like it :/
But I enjoyed the commentary though
