Lamdeamon valid UNIX account error on test

I'm a newbie with LAM (2.3.0) and am running the tests in the "tools" page.  If I run the lamdeamon test with "quotas" checked, I get the error:

Your LAM admin user (cn=admin,o=college-daniel,c=org) must be a valid Unix account to work with lamdeamon.

I have a user called admin who is a unix user.  I can see him in the GNOME users and groups manager.

In searching on "lamdeamon" on the list I only found 3 non-related posts.  In searching more widely on the Internet, I found a post that suggested that in the LAM configuration settings, I needed to reference uid=admin,ou=Users,o=college-daniel,c=org instead of cn=admin,o=college-daniel,c=org. I tried this but got the same message.

At anyrate, I'm not making much process because of my lack of understanding of how all the pieces fit together.  Any insight out there?
Thanks!
David

your admin entry in LDAP needs the object class posixAccount. This is
usually not the case for the cn=admin account.
But you can create a new user with LAM and give him the needed access
rights in your slapd.conf. Then use this user to login into LAM.
