Ok. I am trying to create a book cover. I have received the template from LSI but now when I try to import the template into to Scribus I get the error that Scribus does not support this format.  Am I doing this correctly. Does anyone have step by step instructions after you have received a book cover template from LSI what do you do next. I am new at this. Thanks for any help you can give me.

PDF format. I just exported it as an EPS format and imported it into
Scribus. Now I am trying to figure out how to move the barcode. I click it
and drag but the whole barcode graphic does not move. Only one line of the
barcode is moveable. Let me know if what I did was correct
1. PDF to EPS into Scribus.
2. Create my design in Scribus and then
3. export it to PS form into PDF

the barcode consists of a number of individual elements, so you need to
select them all -- either hold down Shift and successively click them,
or use the mouse to draw a square around them to select them all -- then
go to Item > Group, after which they should all move together. Sometimes
it can be tricky to select just the barcode rather than also surrounding
elements, but this can be a reason to put the barcode on its own layer.

Greg,

I am trying but it is soooo tedious. I am not able to draw a box around it
and I cannot seem to click all the lines or elements. I keep missing some.
Also I cannot perform an undo. So I have to keep closing and reopening the
file to get the original format. Do you have any other suggestions. Please
help I am soooo frustrated over something so small as moving a barcode.

Hi,

I think if you imported an eps the whole eps is grouped. If it is, there is a
small dotted line in green or blue around the whole page. You need to ungroup
it. SHIFT+STRG+G should do that or there is a menu point anywhere.

If you want to select small object try to zoom in :-) STRG+Mousewheel.

Hope this helps.

Jan

Can you load it into Gimp and cut it out into its own individual graphic there?

I think I answered this on another list. Get the template in .eps
form, and not .pdf.
