The OLAT team released OLAT 5.0
OLAT is a campus class open source learning management system / learning
content management system (LMS/LCMS) developed and used by the University
This is a major release including new functionality as well as bugfixes. The most
important new features of the 5.0 release are:
o New building block Wiki which supports the MediaWiki syntax
o Integrated full text search which supports many document formats
o OLAT calender for private, group or course use
o Web 2.0 GUI which delivers a faster user experience (AJAX Beta Mode)
o Enhanced task element with preview, sample solution, subscription feature etc.
o Enrollment element now offers waiting list funcionality
o Archiving wizard allows simple or customized download of results as Excel sheet
o OLAT log-files in Apache format available (for direct use in log-analyzing-tools)

The 5.0.1 release is available as source code release for production
environments and as demo installer release for testing purpose.

Thanks to the growing community that helped finding bugs that made
this release more stable. The community did also a great job in
translating OLAT into several new languages.
