LIRC and bluetooth remote

Hi everybody !

I can't find any documentation about the lirc bluetooth driver.
I see there is a Ericsson bluetooth phone connecting to LIRC using the
BTE driver, and i would try to connect my
bluetooth PS3 BD Remote with this driver.

Ericsson BTE config :
http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/ericsson/lircd.conf.bte

Has someone some information about how to use this BTE driver, and how
to record the buttons ?

Thanks.

The PS3 Blu-ray remote is a Bluetooth input device. After pairing it
[1], use the input driver in LIRC to set it up.

Note that I'm not certain BlueZ 4.x supports the remote, at least I
haven't tested it yet.

Cheers

Ouah nice ! i've been looking for this feature !

I tried to use directly the bte 'bluetooth' lirc driver with no luck.
http://www.nabble.com/LIRC-and-bluetooth-remote-td19568436.html#a19568436

I will try this way and share the lirc PS3 BD remote definition.

I was previously able to use this remote with a lirc fake remote server http://antst.mine.nu/linuxdriverforsonybdremote
and KDE IrKick.

Thanks.

Hello Bastien,

After a lot of testing,  when this remote is paired with hidd, i get nothing from the input device.
I successfully connected the remote with 'hidd --connect', and i can see the buttons pressed using hcidump.
But It seems that theres no data coming from the coresponding /dev/input/eventX.

It seems the data coming from the BD remote is not recognized as a full event message. -> http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PlayStation/BDRemote

With hidd running an input device gets created, but nothing except a SYN event gets reported there (checked with evtest ).
This is because the HID descriptor does not define anything except an 11-byte data input package.

I use Debian SID with bluez-utils 3.36.

Did you really get the PS3 BD remote working with the input driver ?

Thanks.
Laurent.
