LDAP queryAfternoon,
I'm coming to LDAP
for the first time as part of a project.
I need to set up an
LDAP directory for a calendar server running on Windows which can allow us
to assign calendars via user group membership. However our users are
not from the same domain, going from free accounts to educational
accounts.
I'm currently
experimenting with a Windows Installer for OpenLDAP (as Cygwin kept failing to
find our Berkeley DB) but are there any other open source alternatives or guides
to setting up multiple domains and groups and the best practice for doing
so?
Thanks in
advance,
Iain

RE: LDAP queryI'm still slightly at a loss. I've managed to get openLDAP installed and
backed up by MySQL. However I need to figure out a way of getting the relevant pieces of data into a form LDAP is happy with. All I really need is the users email address and the group to which they belong. However the emails can come from any place/domain and I have to deal with it which is where I'm coming unstuck. As I understand it, my DN would need to something akin to dn=user, dc=foo, dc=com whereas our server needs to read user@... and the fact they are attached to group x, y or z . I'm wondering if I might need a different solution. Iain -----Original Message----- From: Gavin Henry [mailto:ghenry@...] Sent: 14 March 2008 07:00 To: Emsley, I (Iain) Cc: ldap@...
