Koha4Win @ XAMPPHi, librarians! ;-)
My name is Clemens and I'm lieving in Austria. I'm new to this kind of software. I tried to find a software, to manage a small scientific library with about 10 users. The features I need are: + Usage of ISBN + It should be possible, that you can enter ISBN and it will be checked with Amazon webservices or anything like that, to get all information of author, and so on. The reveived data should be entered to the database automatically. + barcodereader, to read ISBNs and add books in the empty database fields + Import of existing books as *.csv or *.xls I tried to install Koha on Ubuntu. It didn't work. Many errors with perl packages. Next idea: Live cd: Couldn't find the LiveCd download link. The LiveCd taken downloaded from http://koha.unlp.edu.ar/ doesn't boot, blinking cursor only. Last chance: Windows ;-) With Windows installer I've this problem: On my system there is XAMPP installed. I'd like to use Koha with this XAMPP installation. Php, mysql and perl is working. The koha installer doesn't let me enter my installation path, it wants perl and the other tools in c:\ , XAMPP installation is on a different HD. Is there a chance to get Koha running with XAMPP? In my opinion xampp is a fantsatic way to test such systems. Is it possible, to copy the koha data to the XAMPP htdocs dir and configure it in a webinterface? I'd be very happy if you could give me some answers about my requirements and the windows thing. Thanks in advance! Re: Koha4Win @ XAMPPChris,
You need to change some paths because KOHA only work with C:/usr. Try to find where to change Rafael Citando Clemens Pietsch <clemens.pietsch@...>: > Hi, librarians! ;-) > > My name is Clemens and I'm lieving in Austria. I'm new to this kind of > software. KOHA loose momentumDear friends, I am a KOHA strong supporter but unfortunately many issues are being report which can be very inconvenient for other people to decide KOHA. It is a great ILS but I think that people cooperating on developing would try to fix major problems regarding instalation. If it suceed a lot of efforts could be oriented for configuration and learning.
