Kodachrome Forever!

I shot the following in November but have only recently scanned them.

My favorite local fort again, shot on Kodachrome 200 with the Leica R8
and my then recently repaired Summilux:

This was the only place where I took any photos that day... because of
the light.

The island was evidently used to raise hogs a long time ago and in the
1920's it became Fort Duvall, a coastal artillery battery... I've seen
photos of some very large guns which were there:

When I was a teenager in the late '50s, one could drive by, but not
enter the island. It was still named Little Hog Island and had become
the site of a Nike missile defense base:

for the tracking and control of 30 Nike Ajax Hercules missiles at a
companion site across Hingham Bay in Weymouth.

Now it is named Spinnaker Island and is a gated condominium complex
built on the remains of the Nike base. One can still drive by, but not
enter the island. :-(

The companion missile site, several miles away, has become a nice
park in which to walk

P.S.  I bring the Kodachrome to Hunts Camera in nearby Melrose,
Massachusetts. Kodak picks it up and sends it to Dwayne's in Kansas
City.  It usually takes 7 to 10 days.
