KUIT tags in kmail.po

Hello,

1. I think <resource> is more appropriate here. :)

#: distributionlistdialog.cpp:208
#, kde-format
msgctxt "@info"
msgid ""
"<para>Distribution list with the given name <placeholder>%1</placeholder>
already exists. Please select a different name.</para>

2. For the name of a folder, <filename> is used in the first message and
<resource> in the latter. I would use <resource> for mail folders since they
are not always real folders on disk.

#: kmmainwidget.cpp:1359
#, kde-format
msgid ""
"<qt>Are you sure you want to delete the empty folder
<filename>%1</filename> and all its subfolders? Those subfolders might not
be empty and their contents will be discarded as well. <p><b>Beware</b> that
discarded messages are not saved into your Trash folder and are permanently
deleted.</p></qt>"

#: kmmainwidget.cpp:1482
#, kde-format
msgctxt "@info"
msgid ""
"You are about to recreate the index for folder
<resource>%1</resource>.<nl/><warning>This will destroy all message status
information.</warning><nl/>Are you sure you want to continue?"

3. Are these messages incomplete? What will follow after <nl/>?

#: recipientseditor.cpp:823
msgctxt "@info:tooltip"
msgid "<interface>To:</interface><nl/>"

#: recipientseditor.cpp:824
msgctxt "@info:tooltip"
msgid "<interface>CC:</interface><nl/>"

#: recipientseditor.cpp:825
msgctxt "@info:tooltip"
msgid "<interface>BCC:</interface><nl/>"

Regards,
Yukiko

I agree with points 1 and 2, and committed fixes. For 3, list of email
addresses is appended after trailing <nl/>, so now I switched it to %1 after
the <nl/> (and added some extra context).

Not about KUIT but found a few more issues in kmail.po.

4. There is no <ul> or <ol> before <li> and "initals" should be "initials".

#. i18n: ectx: property (whatsThis), widget (QLineEdit, lineEdit_quote)
#. +> trunk
#: templatesconfiguration_base.ui:298
#, no-c-format
msgid ""
"\n"
"             <qt>The following placeholders are supported in the quote "
"indicator:\n"
"             <li>%f: sender's initals</li>\n"
"             <li>%%: percent sign</li>\n"
"             <li>%_: space</li></qt>\n"
"           "

5. Are these <br/>, two of which in the middle of a sentence, really needed?
What will happen if I remove them? Will it cause the text to be displayed in a
single line? I'd prefer not to specify where to wrap when it's not really
necessary because I've seen bad effects resulting from manually set line
breaks + automatic wrapping.

#. +> trunk
#: accountwizard.cpp:219
msgid ""
"An identity is your email address, name, organization and so on.<br/>Do not "
"uncheck this if you do not know what you are doing<br/>as some servers "
"refuses to send mail if the sending identity<br/>does not match the one "
"belonging to that account."

6. It seems the %1 here is replaced with a "localized default folder name". If
that's the case and the %1 is replaced with translation for "default", the
"default" in the original message is redundant. IMHO, it's not a good idea to
use %1 here in the first place because it's an adjective, which inflects in
many languages.

#. +> trunk
#: kmailicalifaceimpl.cpp:1974
#, kde-format
msgid "There are multiple %1 default folders, please choose one:"

Thanks in advance.

Points 4, 5 fixed, as for 6...

Snooping deeper, it's actually replaced with *a* localized default folder
name (I'd call it more a category), such as "Mail", "Calendar", etc. But
this makes declination issues every bit as actual.

I'll see to equip with contexts both category messages and this message that
uses them (and any other when spotted?), so that declinations can be handled
by Transcript setting/recalling of properties. I think it would be
impractical to instead statically expand messages.

Ah I see. I guessed wrong. :)

OK. I agree with you.
