We have a basic script that puts the <menuitem-name>.Desktop files under the users' .kde/share/applnk/ directories, and it works just
fine. I cron it to apply to users' home directories every hour.

We'd like to add program links and sub menus to an individual
user's KDE menu using scripts. Example ("meyer" is a user):
install_app dir_with_app_link_data meyer
install_sub_menu dir_with_menu_data meyer
What tools/procedures can be used for that purpose?
