In a recent study, individuals who augmented their diets
with dose of omega-3 fatty acids every day to their antidepressant treatment
had substantial improvement in symptoms. Omega-3 fatty acids consist of the
components of EPA and DHA and is found most readily in fish oil. It is also
found in certain other foods as well.
Past research regarded depression studies have implied that
people suffering from this condition have relatively low levels of omega-3's,
which plays an important role in normal brain function.
