JXLoginPane issue

Hello,

I use the JXLoginPane to prompt users to login. A while back I know there was the problem with the caps lock detection removing the ability to type into the dialog, but that has since been fixed. I think as a side-effect of this issue, I am now facing a new issue.

The issue is that when the dialog comes up, one of a few things fairly consistently occur:
 1) If I have my web browser (firefox) open and the login pane steals focus, the browser will actually go 'back' to the previous page in history. This happens every time.
 2) If I have a text editor focused, it will occassionally write an 'a' into it.
 3) Occassionally (probably 40% of the time), the user name field will be pre-populated with an 'a' in it.

Is anyone else experiencing this? It would be great to discuss this here and hopefully resolve it.

Cheers,
Jonathan Giles

Yes this is a side effect of using Robot to work around core bug.
To check, we have to steal focus so nothing much to be done there.
For all the other side effects I'll try to see if there is a way to ensure robot doesn't do any of this until it is sure login panel has the focus.
Seeing how many downsides this (originally simple) workaround has, it might be time to provide a flag to simply switch it off for those who are tired of seeing the issues...

Whilst the caps lock check is a very nice feature, the side-effects are detrimental enough that I agree - an option to switch it off (and maybe even have it off by default) is worthwhile.

Thanks for your response,
Jonathan

Are we doing a temporary focus change?

yes, we have to check if caps is on or not ... the only way to do that at the moment is to use Robot to write something.
