A while ago, I inquired abut the feasibility of having filtering rules
run in IMAP folders. I was informed that the CM developers did not
think that was a good idea. It was suggested that I write custom
processing rules for each IMAP folder that I wanted a specific
filtering action for. While that seemed like a lot of unnecessary work,
I nevertheless went ahead and did just that. Now I seem to have
stumbled upon a new problem.
Assume four different IMAP accounts, which each having a ‘SENT’ folder
present. When I click on each ‘SENT’ folder, the messages are
downloaded correctly. I want all “SENT” documents keep in one location.
I therefore created a processing rule that would move all messages from
the IMAP “SENT” folders to the global “SENT” folder. Obviously, I had
to create that processing rule in each IMAP “SENT” folder. The rule is
set to operate automatically when I open the folder. The rule works
fine.
Now, I shut down CM. When I restart the program, the processing rule is
no longer available. It is not listed or anything. This only happens on
IMAP folders, so it is not a system wide phenomenon.
Is this also the default action for CM, or is it a something else? I
cannot find any documentation specifically dealing with this problem.
